Book Information
Is it the things we don’t say that haunt us the most?
Clare is anxious to start a family with adoring husband, Pete. When she takes on the seemingly simple task of obtaining her late mother’s birth certificate, she finds herself in a family history search that will challenge everything she thought she knew about her life.
Scarred by her parents' ill-fated marriage, Tessa lives by three rules – dating unavailable men, building her cafΓ© into a food empire, and avoiding her father. However, when her carefully planned life is thrown into chaos, Tessa is forced to decide which of these rules she’s willing to break.
As Clare and Tessa’s paths cross and their friendship grows, can they both finally unlock their family secrets in order to realise their futures?

My Review
4☆ A Powerfully Compelling Read
The Things We Leave Unsaid is a heartfelt story of two women facing ordeals, family, heartache, relationships and their friendship.
Claire and Tessa work together in Tessa's Coffee Shop.
Claire wants to be a Mum, but is struggling to come to terms she doesn't have any family around her to support her. She only has her husband's family. Feeling like something is missing she sets herself up to find out about her family past and secrets.
Tessa has commitment issues that are deep rooted. She also has so much strength and determination to succeed for her Mum. She looks after her mother who has Dementia and she wants to make her proud.
The two women bond and become really good friends.
I really enjoyed reading this gripping book. It was emotional, powerful, thought provoking, funny at times, yet had real powerful issues which readers will relate too. Such as Dementia and miscarriage.
The subjects are sensitive but Megan handles them with the right amount of sensitivity to still make an impact.
I really connected with Tessa and Claire. I could relate to Tessa and her mother's Dementia. My Aunt had Dementia and everyday it ripped at our heart, which I know so many people face Dementia in some way at some point.
On a lighter note, the food descriptions were scrumptious and I would love to visit Tessa's Coffee Shop.
If you enjoy gorgeous Poignant reads, that have powerful thought provoking subjects, warm and relatable characters, with a dash of humour and romance.
Then you won't want to miss out on reading this gripping and compelling story.
