5☆ A Scrumptious Heart Warming Read that will leave you hungry for more!
Once again Rosie has written another Gem, I couldn't put down.
I was thrilled to be back at the Little Duck Pond Cafe, and this time round we have some new faces to spice things up.
‘Katja Skorobogatova aka Kate Baker is Russian and lives with her Grandmother. After years of horrific bullying for being Russian and having a name too hard to pronounce, along with a tortured and heart breaking past, she decides to become Kate Baker. Or at least for applying for the Pastry Chef job at The Little Duck Pond Bakery in Sunnybrook.
She believes changing her identity will help her fit in and get the job.
So when baker owner Ellie offers Kate the job, can Katja overcome her fears and tell Ellie the truth?
But there's one more thing to throw a spanner in the works,Ellie has also hired Madison to help with the accounts and PR.
But she can only hire one of them!
Madison isn't about to let Kate win, and she's prepared to fight dirty.
Which brings flashbacks of Kate's past.
Can she stay strong and prove she is the best person for the Little Duck Pond Cafe or will Madison grind her down.
All the amazing characters are back which I adored, it's just like catching up on old friends.
Kate's character has so much depth and sadness she is a complex character that has been through so much I was rooting for her the whole way through. She melted my heart.
Madison on the other hand was certainly a colorful character!
It's no surprise when I say I adore this series and the residents of Sunnybrook.
This time round there is plenty of drama, scrumptious food ( so don't read on an empty tummy as it will make your mouth water), potential romances, events, mayhem, secrets, under handed tactics, some laugh out loud moments, second chances, finding oneself and a whole lot of baking.
As I just finish writing my review I have just been to an Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea and it seemed the perfect read to discuss over tea and cakes!
A Bakery at the Little Duck Pond Cafe is part of a series but this one can most definitely be read as a standalone.
But I still highly recommend reading the whole series!
You won't be disappointed!
I'm eagerly awaiting the next instalment.

Rosie Green has been scribbling stories ever since she was little. Back then they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by ‘the baddies’. Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all, unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.
