Book Information

Zadi is part zombie, part fairy with a little bit of robot, which makes her a misfit monster. She lives with other misfit monsters, with their quirky parts in their makeshift town. They survive by hunting at the nearby hunting grounds taking items discarded by humans and making them into something useful. Hunting is risky because they could be captured by humans. Zadi is an excellent hunter and maker, but now she’s finding it difficult.

Something unusual has happened. There have been no new deliveries to the hunting grounds. This means there are no new items which can be used to recycle into something useful, and they are beginning to worry and fight with each other.

Can Zadi come up with a plan which will help the misfit monsters and bring them together as a community?

Enter the world of the misfit monsters, their quirky lives, and be part of their fun and adventures.

My Review

4☆ Plenty of Adventure, Fun, Quirky and Educational!

The Jumble Sale is the first part in a new Middle Grade Children's Fantasy Adventure Book!

Zadi is part zombie, part fairy, with a little bit of robot and lives in the misfit monster community. She's an amazing Hunter, which is perfect as she loves inventing new things to help her.

Zadi visits the hunting ground where she finds all kinds of old bits an bobs which she recycles.
But going to the hunting ground is dangerous as humans can be lurking about so they have to be careful.

The misfit monster community is full of quirky and unusual Monsters, that have a few things in common.
They all love to hunt and recycle, they come together to help each other and they are all nosy lol.

I absolutely loved this whimsical Adventure.
The Characters were so unique and will really get children's imaginations flowing.

I really liked the idea of Recycling, it teaches children about waste, the environment, reusing, recycling, helping each other and working together, Problem Solving, it teaches them that everyone is different and they might not necessarily agree with each other or get on but the can live together and help each other out.
Such an important and current message.

Zadi the main character is a Strong Female Lead and children are going to relate to her strength, determination, Fun side, and her zest for adventure.

This book can be read as a bedtime story, an alone read for the more confident reader, and a group read.
I really think schools would appreciate The Jumble Sale, it's a solid book that not only will get children's imaginations flowing, they can relate to the quirky characters,
but will also educate!

The Jumble Sale is the perfect Middle Grade Book, and a fantastic start to a new series.
It's action packed, has a lil danger, plenty of adventure, it's fun, quirky, I loved learning all about the characters and children will love it!
It certainly will get the imagination flowing.
My only wish was that it had a lil bit of illustration as i would of loved to have seen what the misfit monsters looked like.

I can't wait for the next instalment, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this Gorgeous and Fun Book.

Would I recommend reading The Jumble Sale..... Without a Doubt....100%.... Yes!!
