Sedrick the snail was terribly slow,
as slow as a tortoise moving through snow!
Poor Sedrick is the slowest creature in the garden. His friends try to help him move faster, but all of their plans go horribly
wrong! Sedrick is miserable, until he meets someone who shows him that taking your time can be a good thing.
There is something for all ages in this light-
hearted tale which teaches children that it’s
okay to be yourself – in fact, it’s a whole lot
of fun!
Slow, Slow Sedrick is a charming story which teaches an important lesson about self-acceptance. Beautifully illustrated by Lauren Galley, the bright, colourful pictures really bring the narrative to life as Sedrick’s friends try to help him on his journey of self-discovery.
This the second children’s book from Stevenage-based Katie Budge.
She aspires to write stories that children can fall in love with, while learning morals and values that will stay with them for a lifetime.

5☆ A Charming and Uplifting Children's Picture Book
Slow, Slow Sedrick is a beautifully Illustrated Children's Picture Book.
First of all I want to start by saying I absolutely ADORE the illustrations, they are beautifully created and tell the story perfectly.
Sedrick is a very slow snail and finds it very difficult to keep up with his Friends in the garden. They often pick on him and leave him out as he was far to slow to keep up.
But one day a wise and friendly Snail taught Sedrick a valuable lesson, to be happy, accept who he is, and learn to take in the beauty and his surroundings.
Slow, Slow Sedrick is a charming and uplifting children's adventure book.
It teaches children the value of self acceptance, that's it's ok to be different, to accept new challenges, problem solve, friendships and being kind to one and other.
As an extension you could learn more about Snails, draw/paint/create a snail, look at other animals/creatures that go slow ie Tortoise.
The dialogue on the pages are nice and short, have a lovely lyrical rhyming verse which is perfect for keeping children's attention.
Children of all ages will love Sedrick, he is a charming and fun Character that blossoms into a confident and brave Snail.
Younger readers will love the story and pictures and more confident readers will enjoy the nice short verse. Perfect for bedtime reads, group read, solo read or in Schools.
Would I recommend reading this Enchanting Children's Book .... Without a Doubt.... 100%.... Yes!
