A Pirate’s Song is the fourth publication from Northamptonshire-based Justin, who has attracted praise for his previous publications.
Escape from Nettle Farm, a children’s adventure chapter book, won a Red Ribbon in the 2017 Wishing Shelf Awards and was a finalist in the 2017 People’s Book Prize.
My Bunny, a beautifully illustrated rhyming picture book, was a finalist in the 2018 Wishing Shelf Awards.
Justin is currently working on his fifth
publication, also a rhyming picture book
entitled The Snark.

My Review
5☆ A Swashbuckling Fun Adventure!
A Pirate's Song is a gorgeous children's picture book about a Pirate and his Crews Adventure to find buried treasure and battling the stormy weather to get there.
First of all I want to start by saying I absolutely LOVE the illustrations it's beautifully created and so bright and colourful. Perfect for capturing the eye and telling the story!
The writing style is in Rhyme which I actually found reading it in a pirates voice which was brilliant! So well done to Justin for bringing put my inner pirate!
Children of all ages will adore the swashbuckling adventure of the Pirates.
I think the younger children may struggle with some of the wording but it's so imaginative that even a younger reader will grasp what's happening via the pictures alone.
What I really liked was the added Bonus of a little quiz and activity at the end of the book. It really gets the reader going back and using their memories and investigation skills to find the answers.
There is so much you can do after reading this Gorgeous Book, such as making up a Pirate song, making treasure, going on a treasure hunt of course providing it's with an adult and supervised!
A Pirate's Song is a Swashbuckling adventure, it promotes working as a team, hard work, courage and dedication.
It's a fun and feel good read that will really appeal to all ages.
Would I recommend reading this delightful Children's book.... Without a Doubt....100%....Yes!
