4☆ Gritty Page Turner!
Danube Street is a hard hitting story of prostitution, crime and survival.
I really enjoy books that take you into the dark side of the criminal underworld.
I thoroughly enjoyed this gritty story.
Right from the very start I was drawn in and couldn't wait to see where it would take me.
I'm not going to write anything about the plot as there is a few stories and I really don't want to give anything away. The blurb gives just enough to tease you for more.
I liked the way Linda has given two sides to prostitution. The side where the women are earning and in good conditions, and the other where the women are working the streets for little money, often beaten up and abused.
This book won't appeal to everyone as it does contain abuse, sexual scenes, violence, alot of bad language.
But it's authentic and does give an inside portrayal of what life is like in the criminal underworld.
Danube Street is a riveting story with a cast of multi-layered, challenging characters a little like marmite some I loved some I hated.
It's a perfectly paced, engrossing read that instantly drew me in.
It's deliciously dark in all the right places just how I like my crime fiction. A little on the edge and unnerving.
I'm excited to see discover more from Linda Tweedie.
If you love crime fiction and thrillers then give Danube Street a read.

Author Bio
LINDA TWEEDIE lives in a small coastal town on the east coast of Scotland and has been a market trader, encyclopaedia salesperson and a drug rep (rep, not dealer) but for over 20 years, until her retirement, (early of course!) she spent most of her time behind a bar barring toilet breaks as landlady of numerous watering holes.
Her first three novels came about through customers and friends telling her on almost a daily basis that she should write a book. Well, she did not just one but three The Life series, in collaboration with her best friend and cohort Kate McGregor.
