Book Information
Four little Londoners, Hope, Jun, Lea and Parth, come from a different cultural background, are good friends living in London. They are travelling to the iconic places around the city in search of magic hats to cure Mr Globe’s headache.
The book is illustrated with a mix of real life photographs of iconic places in London and digital illustration so children can have a vivid visual experience of London and at the same time open up their world of imagination.

5☆ A Beautiful Children's Book with an important role!
London Hat Hunting Mission is a gorgeous children's book that is so important, helping parent's and children discuss race, religion, inclusion and working together as one.
This gorgeous book follows children from different cultures working together to help mend the sun by buying several hats to make the sun better.
The children visit different landmarks, learning new languages, and gorgeous facts and information.
This book is absolutely beautifully illustrated. It's fun, bright illustrations will keep the children's attention.
I love the idea of learning languages within the book ie French & Thank you.
It was such a fantastic idea to incorporate places visited around London iconic places & landmarks then giving little facts about the land marks and culture.
It promotes the idea of working together and sharing to make another person happy.
There was one thing that I found might be difficult to read and this was:
- The hat names in Italic and joined up writing makes it very difficult to read the words esp if you never come across the hat name before. For example the word fez is very difficult to read. Even for more as an adult.
This could be a problem if children are reading this book alone, they could struggle.
This book encourages lots of Extension for this book, for children and parent's to do together or alone. They could be:-
-Making hat's together
-Learning more about the languages featured in book
- Go on own adventure.
- Discuss different cultures
- making/ cooking foods from different cultures.
These are just a few.
Winnie has created a superb children's book that I would love to see in schools everywhere.
I would like to applaud Winnie for taking subjects that can be difficult to discuss with children and making them fun, quirky and relatable.
Such a magical, enchanting fun read that I think will appeal to everyone.

Author Bio
Winnie Mak Tselikas is a believer in diversity. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she studied engineering, worked in commercial sales and in 2011 switched to education upon moving to London. There, she met her half-French, half-Greek husband and they had a son, who now has family in China, France, Greece, HK, the UK and the US. Winnie considers her son to be a world citizen rather than of a particular nationality or culture. Inspired by her family and London's diversity, she founded One Dear World and created the lovely adventures of Mr. Globe and the little Londoner dolls.
