Book Information
Fashion designer Thérèse D’Alesandro has recently moved into Westhead Manor with daughter Felicia and stepson Marco. Joining forces with neighbour Ella Benedict, she is about to open a bridal boutique at Ella’s exclusive wedding venue Lawns at Little Court.

Thérèse’s husband Gianlucca has invited the granddaughter of an old friend to stay as a house guest while he undergoes heart surgery. Rossana Caravello is due to inherit the one of Italy’s premier vineyards on her twenty first birthday in September. Aware this would make an excellent addition to her husband’s international business portfolio, Thérèse plots to push the young heiress and her stepson together. Rossana is already besotted with Marco, but if the plan is to have any chance of success first she needs to get rid of Charlotte…

My Review
4☆ A Gritty Contemporary Romance
Wicked Game is a story of Romance, love, meddling, Relationships, Betrayal, Secrets and Family Drama.
When I first opened the book and see there was a cast of Characters, I was slightly apprehensive and a little put off, as I'm not keen on books with a large amount of multiple characters. I find it too easy to get confused you end up losing the connections.
However I did find myself flicking back to the list as clarification at times.
But once I got settled into the story, I forgot about it, and the apprehension I felt before eased away.
I'm not going to write about the plot as this is a book you are best discovering for yourself. There are plenty of juicy twists and drama to wet the appetite.
I think the title for this book is perfectly suited. There is plenty of underhanded tactics, meddling and games to be played where people's hearts and emotion are certain to be hurt. They say rules are meant to be broken... But to what cost
This is a story of a budding Romance, doomed from the start.
How does a relationship thrive and survive when there are forces at work determined to break them up, no matter the cost?
Even worse when those forces are your Family!
There are several storylines weaved throughout that flowed seamlessly, which I really enjoyed.
The Characters are very much multi layered, not all are particularly likeable and somewhat flawed. But others I warmed to straight away, Particularly Charlotte and Marco, I adored watching the passion and chemistry fizz between them.
Jo Lambert has created a mix of eclectic characters that were all very well developed.
The pace is slower than I expected but there is definitely enough drama to keep you on your toes.
Wicked Game is a compelling story that will draw you in and capture your attention.
I can see this book as a tv saga, it has all the juicy underhanded games, vindictive characters, plenty of drama, sexual encounters, Betrayal, Family drama and characters you love to hate. See perfect tv!
If you enjoy Contemporary Romances that are gritty then you will really enjoy Wicked Game!

Author Bio
Jo Lambert lives on the eastern edge of Bath with her husband, one small grey feline called Mollie and a green MGB GT. She is the author of seven novels. The first five collectively known as the Little Court Series are saga/romances set in West Somerset. For book number six she 'moved' over the border into South Devon. Summer Moved On became the first of two linked contemporary romances. The second, Watercolours in the Rain was published in October 2016. In June 2018 Jo signed to Choc Lit and her eighth novel, The Boys of Summer, set in North Cornwall will be published in 2019 under their Ruby imprint. Jo is currently working on another coastal romance, this time set in South Cornwall.
When she isn't writing she reads and reviews. She also has an active blog. Jo loves travel, red wine and rock music and she often takes the odd photograph or two.
