My Review
4☆ Secrets are Rife!
The Secret is the second book in the Villa Leonida series, but my first book. I didn't find it much of a problem, having not read the first book, only that I feel I missed out on some of the character development.
The Secret is full of intrigue, mystery, Secrets, Betrayal, love, heartbreak, loss, friendship and drama all set around my favourite era WW2.
I also want to mention how beautifully descriptive Katharine's writing is, as she transported me to Tuscany and the little village of Santa Zita. Where everyone knows everyone and secrets are rife.
The story switches between past and present seamlessly. Which I really enjoyed as sometimes the time changes can be disjointed. But this was perfectly executed.
The Characters are well thought-out, The setting descriptions are superbly written.
The Secrets is a richly atmospheric tale of secrets and lies woven together in a twisty and complex tale, you wont be able to put down!
A totally absorbing read that's beautifully written.... I highly recommend!
