My Review
5☆ A Complex, Gripping Twisty Thriller I Couldn't Put Down!
The StepSister is a twisty gripping psychological thriller.
I actually don't know where to start with my review. The plot is so twisty, jumping from different scenes with the odd red herring thrown in to keep you guessing it's hard to sum it up without potentially giving something away.
I must say it took me a lil while to get my head around the characters. Particularly Ness and Victoria
Victoria is Ness's step sister. They don't appear to be particularly close. Victoria was abandoned as a wee baby and was found and taken in by Ness's mum.
Victoria has always felt like an outsider. Especially towards her step mum who ultimately favoured Ness.
The two girls are left a mysterious house alongside a canal in Holland by a complete stranger.
Ness flies to Holland to discover more. Leaving Victoria at home to look after Ness's gorgeous pampered Poodle Nigel.
When Victoria gets mysterious texts from Ness she flies over to find her sister.... as she believes she is missing!
It's here she meets the intriguing Dr Manus van der Hooke.... her sisters so called fiancΓ©.
But when strange sinister things start to happen... just who can Victoria trust and is everything as it seems?
The Prologue was brilliant, straight away it had my attention. I wanted to know more.
Jenny has written a cast of multi-layred characters that are deeply flawed yet endearing.
She has written a deliciously dark, twisty and complex thriller. It's tense, unnerving, suspenseful, Gripping and full of mystery.
So if you enjoy thrillers that keep you on your toes, then jump right in and prepare yourself for one roller coaster of a ride!!
