3.5☆ Intrigue & Mystery

The Amber Maze is full of intrigue and mystery.
I really enjoyed reading The Amber Maze.
It's a quick but pacy read.
I found the start to be a little disjointed and confusing, as I didn't really understand what was going on.
But once I got my head around the characters and who was who I really got into the story.
Imagine walking into your rental cottage and a old armchair appears.
The landlady places it there but forgets to remove it.
But when Hugh loses his lose change down the sides of the chair, he digs into retrieve it.
What he pulls out is a mysterious key with half a message/ label attached.
Hugh is intrigued so he sets out to uncover just who and what this key belongs too.
Taking him on a mystery adventure, meeting all kinds of people as they help him solve the mystery.
But has Hugh opened a whole new can of worms?
As the story unfolds the intrigue heightens and you find yourself drawn in and hooked.
It has suspense, likeable characters, it flows perfectly.
My only criticism is that it was just too short!! I wanted more!! I love short stories but sometimes they need more.
Having said that it didn't feel rushed at all, and Christopher packed loads in for a shorter read.
