3.5☆ A Poignant Story.
Distorted Days is a poignant story about friendships, loneliness, heartache, loss, grief, moving on and change.
Doris has just found out her husband of 11yrs has been having an affair with her best friend. She's angry and upset.
Having to get out of her house as he wants to sell up, she's now looking for a new job and somewhere to live.
Luckily it's not long before she finds herself getting a job in the library.
It's here she meets an eclectic and complex bunch of
people, where she learns of their ups and downs, makes friends and tries to help. Distorted Days is a realistic look into reality and the problems people face, the highs and lows and how they pick themselves back up again. It's a story of hope, survival, courage to move on and start again, and friendship. There are a few twists and some humour to keep light of some of the heavier story lines, which balanced out nicely. It took me a while to get into the story and to settle into the style of writing as it's not a style I am used too. The characters are relatable as are their stories, I just felt something was missing for me. I just want to give the cover a mention as I think its perfect for the story, it's dark, edgy and eye catching. It compliments the story perfectly!

Author Bio

Before writing full time, Louise worked mainly as an English teacher after getting a degree in Literature and later, studying business and psychology at Masters level.
Louise grew up in Cheshire and now resides in Shropshire.
